My research interests and activities

Research interests

My research concerns mainly knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR), especially non-monotonic reasoning (NMR). Some keywords:

  • Formal Argumentation
    • mainly abstract argumentation (Dung’s framework and its generalizations),
    • deductive argumentation,
    • argument-based negotiation,
    • uncertainty in argumentation,
    • argument strength,
    • argumentation for explainable AI,
    • argumentation for legal reasoning,
  • Belief change (belief revision, belief merging). I’ve been particularly interested in the intersection of argumentation and belief change (this intersection was the topic of my Ph.D. thesis).

I am also interested in algorithmic solutions (mainly based on SAT) for hard problems:

  • see CoQuiAAS and Crustabri for my work about this topic for abstract argumentation;
  • more recently, resources allocation.

My recent and ongoing work also concerns the use of Large Language Models for extracting information from text, in particular legal argument mining.
